Foreign Vocabulary Migration And Its Teaching Strategies

In the future illiterates refer to not only those who can't read ,but also those who don't know how to learn . If one really wants to learn to study , learning migration is one of the main ways . Learning migration means one kind of study has impact on another kind of study or experiences through studies have impact on fulfilling other activities . In other words , the students'knowledge experiences , cognition structure , action skills , learning strategies and methods have impact on new knowledge and skills . Learning migration plays an important role in individual's psychological development and his(her) adjustment to the society .The ultimate purpose of learning a foreign language is to apply the acquired knowledge and experience to all kinds of real situations and to solve the problems in communications . The acquisition of a foreign language should be based on owning certain language materials ; an indispensable element of owing language materials is accumulation of vocabulary . Knowing the rules of foreign vocabulary migration is a guidance to both foreign language learners and foreign language educators . Applying effective migration rules and learning strategies can help foreign language learners to improve their learning efficiency and enlarge their knowledge capacity during a limited period.The language knowledge and communication abilities of different languages are interchangeable ; they can promote and complement each other . In the present , Russian majors mostly didn't learn any Russian before they entered the university , but they all have some English knowledge and have formed the mother tongue's mode of thinking . They can assimilate related knowledge of Russian vocabulary by utilizing related knowledge of English morphology and word meanings of mother tongue .This article is divided into five parts :Part I : Based on the present condition of foreign vocabulary migration research , the research purpose , meaning , content and method are put forward .Part II : The theoretical basis of foreign vocabulary migration is expounded .
