The language research of the Chinese classic poetry have been lagging behind the literary research. For the long-term both occupy their own field, and one never blends the other. This thesis binds linguistics and poetics, researchs and describes the syntax of modern-style poetry of the great poet WangWei, which shows that the poetry language is restrained the basic grammartical rule though there are many large distinctions between poetry languge and common languge. The syntax of claasic poetry is a bridge that links the word method and the art of composition. The word method of WangWei's modern-style poetry has great character. The antitheses are diversified, and there is much relation of meaning between the first and the second sentence in a couplet. WangWei's modern-style poetry has many poetics functions: the images expressed by compounds and phrases are produced through syntax ;the combing of image is through the coexist of sintax construction (or noun) and syntax construction (or noun) ; the differences of syntax's analysis bring up the polysemic understanding of poetry, vice versa; the syntax variation is also an important means that adapts the metre, emphasizes the meaning and constructs the poem language.
