His movies root in the reality of Iranian society. His style is plotless and minimal in a very simple way but rich and philosophical as well. The viewers often unexpectedly feel their own presence during watching his movies. They can feel the breath of the characters by their personalities, dialogues and spirits. So they sympathize with them and purify their own souls. Abbas composedly provokes the profound vision of humanity and life by his concise and modest cinematography. His major idea is to identify with the indigenous culture and to show the respect and passion for life. This thesis first explores the themes, narrative modes and cinematography of Abbas' movies in order to reveal his distinctness. Then through the analysis of the reason of his success and the influence to Chinese movies, this thesis tries to conclude the value of Abbas' movies to the research of the movies of the undeveloped countries' .
