Huailai Dialect The Affixes Study

Huailai county lies in the northwest of Hebei province. Huailai vernacular belongs to Zhangjiakou-Huhehaote dialect in Jin dialect. Huailai vernacular has many differences with the Standard Chinese in phonetic, lexical and grammatical features. This present thesis mainly adopts the methods of the descriptive linguistics, attempting to make a systematic study of the affixes on Huailai vernacular. In chapter one, the paper firstly describes consonant, simple or compound vowel and tone of Huailai vernacular, generalizes their distinctive features. Then the paper presents general theories of affix. So, we can have a more clear understanding of them. This knowledge will contribute to our practical research. The next three chapters are the important part of this paper. In these three chapters, we have discussed some important affixes on Huailai vernacular in detail. Through the concrete analyses of them, we can see certain features of affixes on pronunciation, usage and function. So we can have a clear and complete understanding of the affixes system on Huailai vernacular.
