Creative Process, From Topic Selection

This thesis is an analysis of the artistic creation of the author. Besides a truthful record of the graduate assignment, the author also strives to exhibit the richness of the nature of men and women through the artistic language of oil painting from a perspective of comparative arts on awareness, physiological features and aesthetic inclination of men and women.During over one year's painiting rendering, the author has treated the creation as a way to release her emotion and repeatedly explored the theme of the painting to achive a clarity from a state of chaos.The author is also striving for a more realistic significane. It is hoped that when the painting is displayed to audience, the same reflection and thinking could be fulfilled so that real-life displays could be taken into concerns. The magnified thinking and painting will propell to rethink of the stereotyped modelling.No matter domestically or internationally, the differences between men and women are gradually diminishing with their relationship more diversified. Mansculine is no longer a strong attraction and women is no longer a symbol of docility. From a standpoint of neo-neutralism, the women of the new century would be a combination of masculinarity and feminity to achive an integrity of personality, either soft or strong, so as to meet the feature and gender of new characteristics of women. The change in awareness of women is closely associated with social development, technological progress and evolution of morality. Unisex is becoming more and more fashionable concept. Gender is a make-up, a emotion or a display and individual' specific gender is no longer of significance anymore.Artists are concerned with a specific section while philosophers the wholeness of human life. Artists apply symbols to express their thinkings through emotions and artistic tools. Philosophers intend to clarify the relationship through analysis. The appeal of arts is to enable to return back to illusioned world of feeling and ideals under the comtemporary world where feelings are diminishing and inspirations and dreams destroyed.For a artist keen to society, the rule is repeatedly demonstrated that passionate designs and entertainment are only meant to overthrow the current culture and createnew.Without innovations, a art work is certainly meaningless. If work is only to repeat self or others' experience, it is bound to be a repeated failure but no arts. My paintings show a tendency to confuse sexuality so as to elicit the image and character of new men and women of convergence in their realization of their physical body and life.This thesis is based on above realization. However, the research on this subject is for the most part general in concept without deep analysis on the style and imaging. The author will continue to explore the meaning of the subject though solid study of style and imaging process.
