After the failure of the rebellion in 1959, the Fourteenth Dalai Lama fled into India. Consequently a large number of Tibetans who knew little about the truth of the rebellion followed Dalai Lama and went into exile. Till now, there are more 140,000 Tibetans living in over 30 countries and areas in the world, and most of them, about 125,000 Tibetans, live in India and Nepal. With the activities of Dalai Clique as well as the support from anti-Chinese forces, the trend of internationalization of "Tibetan Issue" has been further strengthened, while the US-headed West continues to use "Tibetan Issue" as "a chess" or "a card" to limit the development of China. So it is of great importance to know and master the current situation of over 100,000 Tibetans in India and Nepal, which will do good to the struggle against Dalai Clique as well as the stability, unity and development in Tibetan-inhabited areas. This thesis makes a brief introduction and analysis of Tibetan in India and Nepal to explore the defacto situation of over 100,000 Tibetans. This thesis consists of nine parts, including the analysis of the population of Tibetans in India and Nepal; the introduction and analysis of the current condition of Tibetans in India and Nepal; the analysis of the living condition of Tibetans in India and Nepal; the introduction and analysis of the educational condition of Tibetans in India and Nepal; religious beliefof Tibetans in India and Nepal; the analysis of the health care condition of Tibetans in India and Nepal; recent condition and arrangement of those Tibetans leaving the country without permission; main difficulties and contradictions are facing with Tibetans in India and Nepal as well as relative policies & advice.Through the analysis of the situation of Tibetans in India and Nepal, the author makes such a conclusion: though "most of Tibetans living in India and Nepal regarded as refugees", after over 40-year's development, they have expanded to some scope, and most of them are able to keep their legs in local areas. As a whole, the living conditions of the Tibetans in South Asia are mostly the same as the locals, and some of them even enjoy a better living condition. After all, the Tibetans in India and Nepal have to depend on others' support for living, they are doomed to encounter different kinds of troubles or contradictions, some of which, such as the future of the youth, are " death-wounds" of Tibetans in India. In a word, Tibetans in India and Nepal are still far from a bright future while studying them still has a long way to go.
