Chengdu is an important city in the southwest, with a history of 2,000 years. It rears literati continuously generation after generation. At the same time, it is always been described by the literati and has formed rich images in the literature. Of course, the forming of the images had a deep root in the characteristic culture of Bashu. Owing to the history and geographical conditions, the culture of Bashu went out of the course of orthodox Confucianism, with an uncontrolled characteristic spirits. Thus, it made the people of Bashu, especially women are characterized by a distinct charm. The Chuan meizi are described in literary works: shrewd, bold, firm and rebelling. There are always many famous scholars in Bashu. The literati's coming and going brought the two-way influence and exchange of culture. And the tradition caused the literati to examine the culture in double ways and have a clear and thoughtful idea to the culture of Bashu, therefore, literati have produced world-famous excellent works with particular images of Bashu. What's more, the culture of Bashu has a characteristic of leisure, diversion with positive and passive influences, especially in special stages, its passive influences will enlarge and hold back the development of culture, arousing the criticism and deny of advanced writers. The description of Bashu appeared and developed with the appearance and development of Bashu, so the development of culture is somewhat the development of the city and it is also the history of the development of culture and change of society.In the modern times, because of the development of modern culture and the coming of external civilization, the modern literature came into being. And it narrates and reflects the great changes of the society and culture in a special way.
