Religion, Professional Status And Role In China's National Education Thinking

At the end of the seventies a few of universities of China establishied religious research institudes.Now more and more universities have the speciality of religious studies.China is a country with lots of nationalities and religions, and the speciality of religious studies has great meanings to the country and individual.The thesis analyses and studies the speciality of religious studies in the Central University of Nationalities,and by this I want to know the status,function,state of development of the speciality of religious studies,and hope to study specialized perfection and development in the future and offer my own view about it.There are four research approaches of this thesis mainly. 1.I choose the speciality of religious studies in the Central University of Nationalities as a case;2.I collect and analyze the documents and materials about the speciality of religious studies in universities of China;3.I carry on interview with relevant experts and scholars and professional graduates engaged in the work of religion .4.I design two pieces of questionnaires with different content for who study the speciality and others who study it as an elective course.The thesis studies the foundation of the speciality of religious studies,the developping history of western religious research and contemporary situation of the speciality in China,and then introduces thespecialities of religious studies in universities of Beiing,including Peking University, the People's University of China,Chinese Academy of Social Science ,and Beijing Union University.By concrete research for the speciality of religious studies in the Central University of Nationalities,it shows the education and scientific research state of religious studies in Chinese universities.It's a key part of this thesis to research an analyse.The thesis studies the status,function,state of development and developping direction of the speciality of religious studies from three angle.First,it studies the specialized status and function of the speciality from outside,according to domestic and international state of religious studies:It was professional to arise at the historic moment under the background of fact that western religious studies arised;The establishment of the speciality in China demonstrated development and prosperity of its religious studies;Compared with the relevant speciality or the courses (like philosophy,theology,atheism),the speciality has its own characteristics. Second,it analyzes the state and developping direction of the speciality in China from inside by researching for the speciality in universities of China:The speciality need to be perfect with the fashion of normal state development;Professional state of the speciality in institude of nationalities demonstrates developping direction of national religious studies in China .Third,it studies the state of development of thespeciality in terms of the students througn an analysis of questionnaire.At last,the thesis summarizes and explains the relation between the speciality and national education,the state of development of Chinese religions,religiou's studies of China ,and teenagers' quality-oriented education.Meanwhile,I put forward my own suggestion for perfection and development of the speciality of religious studies of China.
