Wei-so system is an important military system of Ming Dynasty. Chu Yuan-chang created the Ming regime and sent the army to all-over the country as a basis for frontier defense, which was organized in Wei-so system. Wei ,usually controlled 5 Ch'ien-hu so and 5600 soldiers, was managed by Tu chih-hui shih ssu ( Hsing tu chih-hui shih ssu),the latter was belonged to Wu-jun tu-tu fa. Generally, Wei-so administrate certain population and lands. Some Wei-so were set up in the area without administrative organization and play administrative role. Wei-so, part of military system and Zhou Xian, part of administrative system form the principal part to administrate the country. Wei-so research is the key point to understand the land administration system and military system.Because Wei-so system is complicated, we should research the regime and administrative level firstly. The research on Wei-so of Ming Dynasty is few, and most of them simply reflect space and time. This thesis research the background and regional character of Wei-so system of shan-xi hsing tu-ssu according to the history and local history materials. The research base upon the whole strategy structure of Ming Dynasty and take geographical structure into consideration.Thesis point out the control on He-xi Corridor by Ming Dynasty is accomplished when Shan-xi hsing tu-ssu transfer to Ganzhou at AD 1393 and Wei-so system were set up to control He-xi Corridor, notaccomplished when Feng-sheng conquered Western area at AD 1372. Ming Dynasty came upon with resistance from Mongolian group and took the strategy that military control and comfort measures adopted at the same time to control and open Western-region(xi-yu). |
