English Loanwords In Modern Chinese Studies

The necessary and the development of the society are the basic condition and strong power for the vocabulary expansion. With Chinese opening deeply, there are more communication between China and other countries, and with more media there are the more information and more convenience, which put forward modern Chinese to enrich its vocabularies .And borrowing loan-words is one of the important means.This paper study English loan-words in Chinese by The word structure analytic approach, The related law of language and social culture, The semantic analytic approach and The psychological analytic approach. From many points of view, it analyzes synthetically the new characteristics and the basic regular of English loan-words in modern Chinese, and forecasts their trend in the future. From a special view , the article tries to reveal the relation between language and social culture, and the connection between language and psychology of speakers. Besides the preface and the conclusion , there are four parts in the article.The first part from different views classifies and analyses English loan-words.The second part from a functional view, mainly discusses language, culture, society and psychology of the English loan-words.The third part on the basis of the result of the integration of modern Chinese and English, further discusses the Chinesizing of the English loan-words. The author thinks we need to transform the meaning and the form of the English loan-words to make them merge Chinese in order toadapt the English loan-words to Chinese.The forth part is the emphasis of the paper, that is, Letter Word. Now, English are getting more and more and involving in wider fields than before. At the same time, there are many questions on the source, regulation, etc. of the English Letter Word. Therefore, this paper overall analyzes the source, the types, the reason of production, the limitations and the transformation of the Letter Word.The conclusion sums up the whole paper and simply forecasts the trendency of the English loan-words.
