The development of the reform in basic educational curricula has already brought great changes in the theory of music teaching. The new criterion for the music courses in primary and junior middle schools requires that the teacher should be versatile in many skills instead of being restricted in only one subject and skill. The music education in advanced normal college takes the responsibility to cultivate music teachers for the society; therefore, its education level affects the development of music education of the whole society. Since piano course is very important in music education, the adaptation in its teaching content and curricula system must become an important part for the reform of music teaching in advance education. It is of great importance to shake up the old teaching system and explore new models of music teaching. Recently, the collective piano class has been springing up in the field of piano playing teaching, which is a kind of keyboard learning course deriving from the combination of the traditional piano teaching and modern technologies. Through the study of keyboard playing, students can master the basic skills and techniques. At the same time, it can cultivate their comprehensive ability in music. It is not only a supplement of some traditional teaching method, but also an important breakthrough in the theory and methodology of music education. This dissertation makes analysis of the teaching targets, teaching property, teaching model, teaching method, teaching content and teaching result through the methods of literature analysis, experiential summing-up, data analysis, experimentation, graphology and antitheses. It aims at carrying forward the advantage of collective piano teaching to realize the improvement of students' piano playing performance and integrative musical ability. This dissertation is divided into three parts. The first part is the general account of collective piano teaching. The second part is mainly about the theory foundation of the analysis. The third one is the analysis of collective piano teaching.
