In the late years of Qing Dynasty, the reform of training and choosing of the talents, which was the important part of the political reform, made the traditional system of the talents' training and choosing changed historically. This thesis tries to make a historical investigation and comment of the reform of its system form the aspects of its background, its triggers, its process, its successes and failures. Furthermore, thesis also tries to draw some lessons and experience form the reform of training and choosing of the talents for today's construction.The main body of this thesis consists of three parts. In part one, the author makes a detailed analysis of the background and triggers of advancing the tentative idea of the reform and putting it into practice. The following factors are conductive to the reform of training and choosing of the talents: (1) Useless talents by imperial examinations;(2) The import and influence of western knowledge;(3) The reconstruction of the thoughts notifying and applying ancient classics;(4) The practical demands of the great social and political changes in the late Qing Dynasty.In part two, the author investigates the reform of the system, the process and substance of training and choosing of the talents, who could notify and apply ancient classics. The main content has three aspects:(l) the system establishment of the training talents notifying and applying ancient classics;(2) The mostly roads of training talents notifying and applying ancient classics;(3)The historical evaluation of training talents notifying and applying ancient classics.In part three, the author researches more about the process, roads, experience and moralist of the system changes of the talents' choosing. The main contents are:(1) The aim transform of the talents' choosing in the late Qing Dynasty; (2) The system establishment of choosing talents notifying and applying ancient classics;(3) The historical evaluation of choosing talents notifying and applying ancient classics.In the end of this thesis, the author gives a comment on the successes, limitation and failures of the system of the talents' training and choosing in the late Qing Dynasty, and draws some conclusions in order to provide the today's construction of with some useful enlightenment.
