This article mainly studies the signification for the postcolonial theory to be applied in literature comment. It contains four parts, the introduction, analysis, practice of the postcolonial theory and the summary. In order to introduce postcolonial theory, the first part states the standpoints of Edward Said, Gayatri C.Spivak, Homi Bhabha, who are specialists of the postcolonial theory. The second part shows the writer's argument. The postcolonial theory should be more applied for literature comment not for cultural comment, that to say the postcolonial theory should return the tests themselves. The theory is extensive applied and misused, so we should try to pay attention to these problems when we apply the theory. Follow that, the article discusses two problem: why should do so and how to do so? Another important argument in this part is that the significant of the postcolonial theory lies in re-read. By the theory, texts can be re-readed and some new points can be drawled. The third part illustrates this re-reading by four examples. How to evaluate the New Cultural movement and Lu Xun? What leaded to the "Tracing Back for Root" literature? How to handle the literature of national minority? How to understand the works which were wrote by the seventies women? From the angel of postcolonial theory, we can get some enlightening answers. At last, there is a summary of this article. It emphasizes that the postcolonial theory only is a way to re-read, not to construct or overturn.
