Yan Geling is a famous writer residing in America, who has produced eight novels, over fifty novelettes and short stories, film scripts and biographies during the twenty years of writing. She has also written in English and attempted to open up the way to bi-lingual writing. Many works of hers have received wide attention and continuous comment from people in the field of Chinese literature research both at home and abroad.This thesis focuses on the Chinese novels of Yan Geling published in China to have a systematic and comprehensive clarification and elaboration on them. The paper is divided into three parts with the clue of Yan Geling's profound concern, unique depiction and lenient care for human nature.The first part discusses her novels whose theme is the "the memory of the Great Cultural Revolution". It recounts in detail the texts of the three novels in 1980s one by one to show that the ideal fervour of youth and the distorted humanity crisscross vertically and horizontally at the same time and space. Besides, it grasps the series of recent "Suizi's stories" on the whole and makes the readers feel the process and extent of the trampling of the horrible adulthood world on the child psychology during the period of the Great Cultural Revolution from the development and change of Suizi.The second part talks about the Yan Geling's "New Migration Novels" from three levels. Firstly, she reproduces and imagines the life of migrants of several generations with the profound historical ambience asthe background. Next, she probes into the strong borderline consciousness and feelings, emphasizes the concern for the human nature on the border and applies the device of psychological analysis. Thirdly, she manifests the joys and sorrows of the homosexuals, a special social group on the border and integrates them with the migrant background so that to highlight the change of human nature under the pressure of twofold borders.The third part has a detailed analysis of the several types of love described by Yan Geling-the contradiction between love and ego of the female, the entanglement of love with patriarchal power and the feeling between Eastern females and Western males on the basis of the first two parts from the angle of the love mode and feminine writing of Yan Geling's novels. It indicates Yan Geling's adherence to the feminine standpoint and perspective and her peculiar female experience with the ultimate purpose to explore the significance of her feminine writing at present.
