The" Da", in the texts of LaoTsi, is a relatively independent concept. First, it belongs to the category of Neumann. In the documents of the Pre-Qin days, the "Da" was a symbol of the sanctity of heaven and earth. Besides, in the texts of LaoTsi, the relationship between the "Da" and the" Tao" is as the same as "given name" and "style name", and "given name" represents the nature of everything, so the" Da" and the" Tao", sensing Neumann, are the concept in terms of the original meaning. Second, the "Da" has the specific meaning in its own right, i.e."going", "departing", "returning". It means the law of the development and implies profound dialectical thoughts. The perfect state of LaoTsi's aesthetics is the "Da". The core of the "Da" is naive-ness and natural, which eliminates form, skills and ornate diction. The "Da" represents the supreme state of aesthetics when juxtaposed with the" Tao" in LaoTsi. LaoTsi endows the "Da" unity and contrary contents, proclaiming the animadverts on crafts and even culture. The "Da" of LaoTsi''s aesthetics not only exerts an important influence on the Northern and Southern Dynasties' theories about poetry , painting and calligraphy etc. , but also exerts on the classical theories of China in later ages.
