Mencius' Hermeneutics "study

Interpretation of Mencius concepts was the most important work in Dai Zhen's life. This paper makes every effort to study it more systematically and thoroughly in three aspects. Firstly, I want to research the process of the completation of it in order to straighten out the interior relation of the development of Dai Zhen's thought. Secondly, I try to reseach the means of interpretation of this book. I want to explore the style of interpretating the meanings of the key words, the method of linguistic interpretation, historical interpretation and psychological interpretation and its signification in the history of Xun Gu Xue(critical interpretation of ancient texts). Thirdly, I attempt to study the value of the book. By concretely investigating Dai Zhen's life experiences and the background of the times, I recognize its value of enlightment . At the same time, I assess anew the relation of Dai Zhen's thought and Cheng-Zhu Neo-confucianism, and reveal their same political goal to save the country and people from impending danger and indicate that Dai Zhen intended to fire at the people in power by criticizing Cheng-Zhu Neo-confucianism.
