Zhu Xi was a great thinker, philosopher and educator of Southern Song Dynasty who epitomized New-Confucianism . He was also an accomplished poet and poetry critic . His poem and poetry theory embodied the conflict and merger between New-Confucianism and literature. At first, the article analyses Zhu Xi's attitude to poetry writing. His attitude changed with the development of his thought. In his theory of New-Confucianism, poetry has a definite and finite position. Then the article discusses the poetry style which Zhu Xi praised highly. Zhu Xi entrusted to the poetry style a unique intension . At last , the article gives a brief account of Zhu Xi's poems, especially his philosophy poems. These philosophy poems reach a high position in the history of the development of Chinese poetry .
