Satire is the most important factor of the novel, but is not the whole. The forms of comedy are satire, comic talk, humor and fantasy etc. Rulinwaishi mixes all the forms together, uses the method of satire to the negative characters, and humor to the positive characters. This article analyzes the two factors and the reasons of the factuality. It is because the author has a colorful life. And he selects the useful materials from the precursors' book or his daily life. At the same time the novel also gives the readers a strong feeling of sorrow sublime. This because the center ideology is serious, it exposures the evil of Bagu test and the feudatorial morals; The positive characters are have loafty virtues and morals. They present the author's noble ideals. The ending of the novel is a tragedy, the positive persons are dead or exiled, the positive characters ideals and social ambitions were evaporated. So the novel implies an atmosphere of sorrow. Thereal perfection must be harmony. Rulinwaishi is not losing the Zhongyong tradition of Confucian. With the author's center ideology and artistic conception, the inside structure, speech and characters, the whole aesthetic implication, are all unify and concordant. The comedy and the tragedy are mixing, the structure is united and the development of the characters, the scenery description is beautiful, all these harmonize the artistic style.
