This paper introduces the concept and theory of self-efficacy and some relevant researches of self-efficacy. Especially, it emphasizes on the relation of self-efficacy, achievement and gender.This research adopts general self-efficacy and subject-specific self-efficacy questionnaires and investigates 424 college students, in which 155 majoring in electronic information engineering, 97 majoring in computer software and 172 majoring in administration. This study uses regression analysis and two-way anova analysis. This paper explores the effect of general self-efficacy and subject-specific self-efficacy on general achievement and subject-specific achievement. Moreover, this paper investigates the influence of the level of self-efficacy and gender on achievement. There are 3 conclusions as follows:1. General self-efficacy can predict general achievement, however not all the three subject-specific self-efficacy can predict general achievement.2. Subject-specific self-efficacy can predict subject-specific achievement. Whereas general efficacy of all the subject can't predict subject-specific achievement.3. There is interaction of general self-efficacy and gender on general achievement. But, there is no interaction of subject-specific self-efficacy and gender on subject-specific achievement. However, the main effect of gender and subject-specific self-efficacy is significant.
