Psychological Prevention And Intervention Research For Students With Suicidal Tendencies

To prevent the tragedies of committing suicide, a variety of "national preventing strategies for committing suicide" have emerged consequently. In china, the relevant draft just came out last November. It has been widely noted that the study of the theory and practice for preventing college students committing suicide is of great significance.This dissertation attempts to propose the concrete methods and means for preventing committing suicide and crisis intervention. On the basis of training the school tutors and the members of the university psychology association, Shanghai teacher's university started a psychological survey last October on the freshmen of 4852. we employed the test of "UPI" for the first time, then give lectures and retest the students whose results of the test were not well. The test involved scl-90,sas,sds. Through these measurements, 226 students demonstrate obvious intention to committing suicide or bad mental states. After treated by the encompassed psychological intervention, these students were retested at the beginning of the second term.The most important conclusion we have drawn from the whole process is that all the chosen students have shown significant discrepancy in their two tests. This implies that the students ' bad mental states and depression can be greatly improved through psychological intervention. As a result, psychological intervention can function effectively to prevent committing suicide.
