The conversation between the Confucianism during the Ming and Qing Dynasties is a crucial part of the East and West Cultural Exchanges. Among which "Confucian Christian" played a very important role. As a sample of the common "Confucian Christian", Zhang Geng's works mirrored the impact of Catholicism on common Chinese intellectuals and their responses. Due to the limited data, the predecessors' researches are not very satisfactory. In view of this, this thesis sorted out and analyzed the newly published data, and then it focused on Zhang Geng and his articles. In order to present the collision and conversation between the "ego"-Confucianism and "other"-"Catholicism" in Zhang Geng's thought. This thesis takes Comparative Literature studies as an approach and used several modern theories comprehensively. Moreover the thesis attempted to give some enlightenment to the Cross-cultural Exchanges in modern times.
