Turn Of The Century, China's Cultural Soft Power Building,

The role of the soft power of culture has become increasingly important since the end of the cold war. From the need of resisting cultural hegemonies, maintaining national cultural security, and upholding state cultural sovereignty, what's more, in order to construct Chinese characteristic socialist modernization, this paper emphasizes the importance of constructing the soft power of culture in our country as a developing socialist state in the complicated international environment at the turning point of the centuries. The paper also puts forward some views on how to construct the soft power of culture. We should have the culture consciousness as well as a self-knowledge on our culture and understand its development course and trend in the future. Therefore, the soft power of the culture construction should emphasize its ideology quality, present our national character, take training the new comprehensive socialist constructor as the goal, and widen the influence of our culture through developing Chinese characteristic cultural industry.
