On Zheng Banqiao's Multiple Personalities And Poetry Writing

Zhengbanqiao renowned for his poems, calligraphy, and drawings has a unique personality. In academic circles, studies abound with Zhengbanqiao's calligraphy and drawings, but not enough on his personality, poems and tzu. The thesis tries to further discuss the characteristics of Zhengbanqiao's personality and his poems and tzu from the relation between personality and literary creation.The thesis considers that Zhengbanqiao centers a triple personality, radicals and ultraconservatives, traditional Confucianists, and artist's personality on one person, which influences and permeates each other and then forms an inner extension. These make Zhengbanqiao not only pay attention to a personality but a utility, though he pays much attention to the utility but also cannot shut out his personality. There are two reasons taking shape his personality: special times of Kang, Yong, and Qian and special life experience of Zhengbanqiao.As "The writing mirrors the writer", literary concept reflects his manifold personalities, with which Zhengbanqiao's poems andtzu has a latent spirit power combining sincerity, weirdness, modesty and wildness, which are contradictory but a unified entity. Firstly, the thesis has combed his literary concepts and abstract the interpretation of "Stating one's opinions straightforwardly in articles", "Justice" and "Private feelings", then it mainly expounds his poems and tzu, and approaches their varied artistic features such as fully wild and queer, sorrowful, and cool for striving vigorously to dig up the special merits.
