Adorno's culture-industry theory characterizes a philosophical culture trend in the 20th century of the West that rethinks technology and science and scienceism radically and wholly. Adorno criticizes culture industry and praises modernism art, which are tightly contacted and just like the two sides of a coin, representing that Adorno is pursuing an ultra-culture spirit and deep meaning of a text.Though Adorno acknowledges that science and technology creates a massive physical wealth, yet he emphasizes the negative effects of technology rationality and its cultural crisis. The thesis discusses the connotations, the characteristics and catabolism of Adorno's culture-industry theory and tries to disclose the culture-industry's special nature is to fool the public through analyzing culture industry, a culture system of capitalism.Any great thinker belongs to his era. If we magnify his idea unlimitedly, and make it an eternal truth, then it will become an error. Also, Adorno's idea has the distinctive characteristic of an age but it influences the theories thereafter. The background of his thoughts comes from the culture-industry with high technology controlled by capital.Culture industry theory is not only the critical cognition of modern capitalism culture of the western scholars, but also the common problem, which the human society has to face up in the development of history. Undoubtedly, culture-industry theory has influenced the development of Chinese current culture-industry.
