In the 21th century, science and technology are developing rapidly. The wide use of IT is producing a new challenge to the English teaching. Based on this idea and situation, this thesis analyses and researches the Whole English Language Teaching by adopting the methods of Comparing, theory-study and a lot of facts, etc. and also proves its theory and reality by putting it into practice.The whole thesis is divided into seven parts.Part One: The subject is put forward because the English teaching is to suit itself to the development of society and the reformation of education and also because the students need to live and exist in such a competitive society.Part Two: It assays its implication, expounds its characteristics and functions by comparing it with the traditional teaching method. It discusses its theoretical basis from the points of linguistics, psychology and philosophy, sets up its aims and illustrates the basic principles of the Whole English Language Teaching.Part Three: Under the guide of the theory and in combination of the actual teaching, it brings up the feasible strategy of performing the Whole English Language Teaching and at last gives some advice on the teaching quality and the students' full evolution in abilities.
