During the period of Wei - Tsin and Northern - Southern Dynasties (220 ?589), national conflict is a very conspicious problem. Multple tendencies prevail on the social ideological at that time. The Buddhism merges further into the Chinese tranditional culture, which leads to the appearance of large Buddhists with great learning and enormous works written by these Buddhists.Zhao - Lun, which was finished while Cenzhao helped his teacher translate Buddhist scripture and learn the truth of Buddhism, is one of those important argumentations. In view of Cenzhao' s knowledge system and his experiences of learning Buddhism, his work also expressed the exchange of Buddhism and Chinese culture, and marked the great achievement of Chinese Pan-jo (0^r) study. The treatise first analyses the main standpoints of Zhao- Lun, and then indicates two kinds of trends of Buddhism varying with Chinese culture which had emerged. The two trends, one is secularization, the other is spiritualization, which were confirmed in the later chi-nese Buddhism factions. In this article we' 11 choose Tian-Tai (^p?) as an illustration.
