This dissertation is on the re-socialization of overseas Chinese in Yulihua's works. In it, several theories have been used, including Acculturation Theory, Assimilation Theory, Miltine-Pot theory, Multi-Culture Theory and Intercultural Adaptation Theory. Methods of literature search, classification, qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis have also been used. Starting from the summary of re-socialization theories, the dissertation analyze the characteristics of overseas Chinese's marriage re-socialization, job re-socialization and cultural adaptation, with the result of an "Yulihua's Pattern". This pattern is closely related to her own re-socialization process. Compared with Acculturation Theory, limitations have been found out in "Yulihua's Pattern". Based on these limitations, some suggestions have been made for the 21st century overseas Chinese. |
