Lexicon language style is a language style with rnayked distinguishing features and of great practical value. Utilizing some language stylistic theories and appealing to some lexicographical knowledge, this article probes into and comments upon the various factors that contribute to its formation, the various parts that it comprises and the various categories that it falls into. The objective social base on which lexicon language style takes form is the register of lexicon, which is typically and characteristically reflected by the communicative intention of puzzle-resolving, a truthful and resourceful content and an incomparably extensive target readership. All these also stipulate the particular ways in which language for the entire people is used in lexicon. Lexicon language under the sway of lexicon register chiefly features exactness and conventionality, objectivity and plainness, conciseness and clarity, neatness and uniformity. These characteristics constitute the material basis for lexicon language style and they are manifested by the specific ways whereby such linguistic and non-linguistic elements as words, sentences, rhetorical devices, textual structure, punctuations and other symbols are used. The organic combination of these different ways forms lexicon language style. Lexicon language style is a system, within which there exist some differences as to the language use. Based on these differences, the thesis draws a distinction between language lexicon style and special field lexicon style, both of them being the subcategories of lexicon language style.
