Yanzi of the Spring and Autumn period is an historical character who hasdeveloped into a next to perfect artistic image in the Yanzi ChunQiu so thatpeople after him have always extolled him as a model official of integrity.Based on Yanzi's images in Yanzi ChunQiu this paper burrows into therelatively true development of YanZi stories and the image creation,development and trend so as to get an over-all survey of the subject. The paperconsists of five paris: the first part is a depiction of the anecdotes of Yanzi;thesecond is the discussion of the influence of various schools of thoughs onYanZi stories in the Spring and Autumn and Warring States period; the third isthe illustration of the forming and integrating of Yanzi ChunQiu and the Yanziimage; the fourth part is the discussion of two typical characteristics in Yanzi'simage in Yanzi ChunQiu, the fifth part is the study of the circulation andevolvement of the YanZi story after the Western Han Dynasty.
