the thesis aims at showing that the polybasic criteria are the rot cause of the polybasic arts by mean of ruler, and the argument in art field equals to the argument in artistic criteria. Meanwhile, because there is a lack of conscious self-questioning of convention, the traditional criteria still exist and will surely pass on. After the speculation of the scope of the application of the artistic criteria, the author of the present paper reiterates the vital significance of the yardstick of personality in the contemporary art field.
