As a great poet in Tang Dynasty, Han Yu wrote more than 400 poems, including fifteen Linking Verses. These Linking Verses, especially that wrote with Meng Jiao, made considerable achievements and were the highlight of linking verses. The thesis takes these fifteen poems as the research subject, investigates meticulously each poem's creation background, and summarizes their art style.This paper has four chapters. In the first chapter,the author states the research background, originality and significance, and the status quo study. Chapter two recounts these linking verses'background and connotation, then focus on the poems created in 806 A.D. when the most essential poems were created. Next, in the third Chapter, Five of them were scrutinized expressly. Based on the above interpretation, in the last chapter, the author summarizes the artistic features of Han Yu's poetry, studies the development of the linking verses, and therefore analyzes the unique position of linking verses in Han Yu's poetry career. Then the paper explains the creative mentality of competition to coordination between Han Yu and Meng Jiao. At the end the achievement of Han Yu's linking verses in the history of the linking verse and the whole literature history were discussed.
