The methods and characteristics of the Lvshi who explain Mencius, explain thought.This text is divided into five parts of the followings:The first part is a preface. The synopsis elucidation chooses reason and meaning, the present research condition of his study of Mencius, way of thinking and method, in order to highlight the value of the subject.The second part is Lv Zuqian and his reasons of pay attention to Mencius. It concretely discusses Lv Zuqian 'life, family, fellowship of teathers and friends inclouding language phrase of annotation,and the age background of him who attaches importance to Mencius. The elucidation of this part lays the foundation of thorough research for the continuation..The third part is the methods and characteristics of the Lvshi who explain Mencius. The methods of his explanation have a tatal of seven, inclouding the method of summing up main idea, the method of introducing background, the method of using example, the method of analyzing context, the method of elucidating neo-confucian, the method of quoting classical languages and the method of dialectics. There are three characteristics of his explanation:the first feature, interpretation of terms mainly summ up main idea and decipher sentences, in addition, deciphering words and complementing system and so on; the secend feature, following the doctrine of Mencius, Lvshi lead into neo—confucion; the third feature, he close to the original meaning, exhaustive narrative, popular words.The forth part is Lv Zuqian 'study of Mencius ideology. It concretely discusses Mencius's doctrine of humanity, rightreousness benefit, education view and benevolent government, in order to Lv Zuqian who inherit and evolvement for Mencius ideology.The fifth part is a conclusion. It affirms Lv Zuqian 'study of Mencius value and points out it shortage.
