Ancient poetry is an important part of Chinese culture, but the ancient poetry teaching in the intermediate and advanced phases of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language (TCSL) did not receive due attention.This study is based on the analysis of teaching requirements and status of pronunciation, vocabulary and intercultural communication for the intermediate and advanced phases of TCSL, combined the characteristics of ancient poetry of phonological, lexical features and cultural characteristics, and this study thinks that the use of ancient poetry as the teaching materials for the above three teaching activities is completely feasible.Then this article studies the recent teaching materials, combined with traditional Chinese teaching thinking and the practice of domestic and foreign language teaching methods. The article conducts questionnaires and interviews from the frontline teachers and foreign students, summarizes and analyzes their teaching and learning experiences, and explores a series of practical teaching methods.The article tries to identify the feasibility and operability about ancient poetry teaching in the intermediate and advanced phases of education, so as to help the language teaching and culture teaching to be more closely integrated and students can not only learn language skills but also have a better insight on the charm of Chinese culture.
