The two conflicts between Soviet Union and Yugoslavia in 1940-1950s are the beginning of the collapse of the Eastern Camp. They all broke out in a special historical period---he Cold War and rooted in the era of sharp confrontation between the two Camps, so there inevitably existed many similarities. The international situation from confrontation to detente and the changes of the Soviet domestic and foreign policies were embedded in the two conflicts, which necessarily resulted in many differences. These two conflicts will be served as a coordinate in this thesis, revealing the essence of national interests'collision under the guise of the complicated diplomatic surface.Firstly, this paper discusses the similarities of the two conflicts. First, it discusses the similarity of the essence of the two conflicts. From the perspective of the relations with the Soviet Union, whether there is independence is the core of the two conflicts and the most substantive debate issues. Yugoslavia advocates "independence", opposes "Camp Theory", and regards the ability to independently determine its internal affairs and foreign affairs as the greatest national interest demands. The Soviet Union insists on "the Soviet Union Center", maintains "Camp Solidarity" and deems the Eastern Camp as the supreme national interest needs. Second, it discusses the similarity of the cause of the two conflicts. From the perspective of the road leading to internal development, whether it is de-Stalinization is the root of the two conflicts. The Soviet Union insists on maintaining the Stalinist mode. Although the de-Stalinization campaign was launched after the 20th Congress of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, the Soviet strictly limited the process of the movement and brought it under control within the framework of the Stalinist system. Yugoslavia firmly opposes to Stalinism and regards that it is not a "golden rule", on the contrary, it is only the road suitable to one's national conditions that is the way for the development of socialism. Third, it discusses the similarity of the performance of the two conflicts. From the perspective of the range of the two conflicts, both of them are comprehensive controversies. The two conflicts are not confined to the ideological controversy of the two parties, but also spread to the political, economic, military, and diplomatic aspects of international relations.Secondly, this paper discusses the differences between the two conflicts. First, it discusses the differences in the degree of the two conflicts. The first conflict is obviously more intense and fierce than the second one. Second, it discusses the differences in offensive and defensive posture. The posture of the both sides is from Soviet offending and Yugoslavia defending in the first conflict to offending and defending with each other in the second one. Third, it discusses the different influence of the two conflicts on the Socialist Camp. The first conflict results in the first division of the Social Camp. The Sino-Soviet split embracing in the second conflict makes this division further exacerbated, and ultimately leads to the disintegration of the Socialist Camp.By the comparative study of the two conflicts can help us dilute the ideological color, and pay more attention to the national interest in the complicated international relations; resolutely oppose hegemony and power politics; always adhere to the "Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence"; follow a path of socialist development suited to one's national conditions.
