In the history of Chinese painting development , as for the beautiful landscape painted on the south, Dong Yuan, Ju Ran are for the first stage, the two Me, Gaokegong and four famous painters in Yuan Dynasty for the second one , "Wu School" for the third phase. The center of the "Wu School "is in Suzhou. Away from the Royal Plaza, Suzhou has a relatively free political atmosphere and it is also prosperous there. Mastery and appreciation of traditional ink painting offers objective conditions for the creation of "Wu School".Shen Zhou is the pioneer of fresh painting style in "Wu School", most of his work describes the Southern landscape and garden scenes, which reflects the leisurely charm of the Scholars'lives. Wen Zhengming pursuits the aesthetic style of natural, subtle, distant and peaceful and becomes the master of "Wu School". Drawing style is inseparable from the evolution of the times (external) and the choice of the individual (internal), "Wu School" is good at absorbing the essence of the previous era, that is the most important reason they are better than their predecessors. Both sketching from nature and expressing emotion are imperative for "Wu School". On one hand , they tried their best to avoid weaknesses about vulgarization and dissociation; one the other hand, their work pursuits elegant and harmonious qualities. In addition, as independent individuals, the creative process of Wu School's landscape painters is relative to the different mentality of experience and emotional appeal. Shen Zhou is a humble and unambitious man, his favourite style is simplicity; Wen Zhengming is a rigorous and studious man and delicacy is his favourite. This topic researches aesthetic features of Shen and Wen's paintings on the basic of era style, Individual choice , form and contents.
