.2009 Annual New Word Study

Since the national language committee set up the special research subject——new words and language of chronological edition in 2005, new words released by them every year have been catching widely concern. The emerging of a large number of new words and phrases is closely related to the language's own development, as well as the evolution of our society. As the author hasn't seen relevant papers since the publication of net new words by 2009, it's especially necessary to study and explore them comprehensively.The paper makes 396 new terms in《Report of Chinese language living station in 2009》edited by Wang Tiekun,Zhou Qingsheng and published by Commercial Press in October 2010 as main subject, focusing on analyzing the characteristic of net new words and expressions in 2009, terms composed of three words, the relationship between new words and the thriving of the internet, and also social mentality reflected by the emerging of net new words.This paper is composed of four chapters:Chapter One is introduction part, making a clear definition of new words and expressions, analyzing status quo of the researching of new words, deficiencies of present studies, and also expatiating the objects and method of the paper.Chapter Two mainly investigates the characteristics of new words and expressions in 2009 from three perspectives:the number of syllables, and the structure of the new words.Chapter Three inspects three-word new terms from angles of features in making words and harmony of pronunciation. Much discuss has been attaches to "be xx" structure in the third part of this chapter.Chapter Four explores cultural implication from net new words in 2009 in two dimensions:the relationship between new words and the thriving of the internet, as well as social mentality reflected by the emerging of net new words.
