This point can be evidenced on the annual book exhibition in various regions, many fine books emerging in the author's mind from time to time.Along with the deepening of reform and opening up, the level of book's production and publication has leapt to a new standard in the past few years. Foreign advanced production equipment and new technology in introduced continuously and appearing, increasing the production level of domestic printing factory; Such as:hot stamping,UV technology,the production line of four colors,glue binding etc. The production of books is no longer done entirely by hands as in the past, but is replaced by automated production lines, so that increasing the level of the fine books and productivity. As the process of book production is rich and complex by now than in the past and more, plus a reasonable production process playing a key role on book's quality, So the screening and selection of those rich production technology putting in front of the book designer urgently.But in the real, the book binding art is split stiffly into two disparate parts arts and technology, causing the learning the book binding art to the side branches inevitably, and planting potential problems for the actual production work in the future; So the purpose of writing this thesis is the integration of book binding art and technology for researching and learning, basing on the experience of book's actual production; Book binding is closer to the actual production through the two parts discussing, making it's technology servicing thought more, arts and technology are integrated, and lined with each other.The paper discusses book's size,cover,layout,technology et cetera through art and technology and actual production; Hoping makes the book binding art in reader's eyes entirely; its arts are not unrealistic imagination, its technology is not rigid rules, arts respecting technology, technology servicing thought, and it is able to make the healthy development of the book binding arts.Paper analyzes the related issues of book binding through citing a number of practical examples, it resolves related technology problems through discussing actual artistic creation, it thoughts artistic issues better through learning the technical knowledge.
