Light Reading Times Guo Phenomenon,

As an idol of youth literature for several years, Guo Jingming has always been involved in controversial issues. He is a successful youth literature author--his works are welcome by a lot of readers, and they are always sold very well as soon as they are published and put into market; meanwhile, he is a successful merchant—with his smart commercial mind, he leads his group to run the ZUI-series youth magazines very well, which his peer can not catch up. However, he is often called "Guo Chao Chao", because traces of "plagiarism" have been reported in almost all his works. But his fans seem to not mind at all, and they canonize him as always. Literature critics have not made deep review on "the celebrity writer" who receives as much criticism as praise. This status has not been satisfied by the youth literature community.As a youth of the same age with Guo Jingming, the author of this thesis tries to interpret the phenomenon above with a new culture standpoint. This thesis starts with analysis of the youth literature magazine ZUI Novelwhich is created by Guo Jingming. The author of this thesis analyzes the strange literature phenomenon with the "Database Theory" of Azuma Hiroki, a famous Japanese anime expert. Many factors, including reading tendency of "otaku", culture background of "light reading era", consumer economy of fans group, and construction of commercial industry chain, altogether bring about the success of Guo Jingming. Because Guo Jingming works very hard, and time and trend offer much help to him, he has created and run the best youth literature magazines. Fans group and special culture background also help to construct the new literature ecology. In a certain sense, Guo Jingming phenomenon opens a new window for us to interpret the literature values and reading values of the era, and inspire us to reobserve the youth literature market, and resurvey the reading background and the values of the youth in the new century.
