This essay is mainly focused on researching Wang Jian's masterpiece of Landscape in the Style of Ni Zan. Through analyzing the ratio of the "models" Wang imitated at different periods of his lifetime, it is found that most of Wang's works in Ni's style were accomplished at his old age; dramatic increase of Wang's fan paintings in Ni's style were drawn after 1661 (when Wang was 64 years old) and the initiative of this essay is to find the causes of this phenomenon.Further researches showed that among Wang's late years'works in Ni's style, the landscape in the style of Ni Zan is the most important one, near half of Wang's fan paintings in this style are about this subject, therefore it is the best one for us to learn his imitations in Ni's style and furthermore to discuss the two characteristics which base on the fact that the making of fan paintings is different from that of original creation (encounter time and master copy. This can depict the real, interesting side from the seemingly simple and flat side of the imitations. By identifying the time Wang met Ni's work of landscape, we can also indentify Wang's painting styles before and after that time, and furthermore to trace Ni's original works which Wang imitated, and find Wang's creations irrelevant to Ni's works.The two looks shown in Wang's landscape in the style of Ni Zan depicts Wang's styles of two periods at his old age which were not founded on the basis of Ni's original work of landscape. The typical painting characteristics of Wang's two painting styles can be summarized through analyzing his picture structure and technical features and furthermore help us exceed the limit of researching his works of imitations in Ni's style and compare his old years'writing features so as to form an identifying standard and apply this standard to identify genuine and forges works from motherland and Taiwan and those works'time, and as well, adjust the coordinate of profiling Wang Jian.
