Engineering Colleges Music Appreciation Survey Of Teaching And Research

Since the end of 20th century, more and more colleges have paid attention to the importance of music teaching on improving the overall qualities of college students. While conducting music activities actively, many colleges offer public music elective courses for students. As music appreciation course is easy to understand at all its levels, it has won the favor of many students .However, in terms of the content and form of this course, it can't meet the urgent demand of college students for music teaching.Firstly, According to the research on current music appreciation situations of three Science and engineering colleges in Northern Jiangsu Province, namely Huaiyin Institute of Technology, Huaihai Institute of Technology, Yancheng Institute of Technology, this article will analyze and contrast the functions of music teaching and the cognitive deficits among these colleges. Secondly, through the comparison and analysis of music appreciation course, current situations of the students, teaching facilities as well as the qualities of music teachers in these colleges, this article will draw a conclusion and do tentative exploration of it. The whole article can be divided into four parts: in part one, it will focus on the significance of music teaching and music appreciation's role on it; In part two, it will introduce respectively the situations of Science and engineering colleges in Northern Jiangsu Province and conduct research on the current situations of music appreciation courses, teachers, students and teaching facilities through questionnaire; In part three, it will analyze and propose the ideas on the reform of music appreciation teaching on Science and engineering colleges. In part four, it will conclude the whole text and look into the future of music appreciation course in science and engineering colleges.
