Xiao Jun obviously differs from other writers in the history of modern Chinese literature. His characteristic lies in his literary thought. When we read the Xiao Jun seriously, we will find his literary thought mainly includes left-wing thought and liberalism thought. In the era that peoples'thought were unified, the left-wing thought and liberalism thought of Xiao Jun sometimes unified, and sometimes they collided each other. So it not only constituted Xiao Jun's own unique thought, but also determined the marking that we introspect on the history. However, Xiao Jun's literary thought has not been much attention. This thesis thinks we should research Xiao Jun's literary thought seriously, and it's of important significance for introspecting modern and contemporary history and literature.This thesis mainly devotes to neaten Xiao Jun's literary thought include its formation, development and perfection, and through many examples to verify Xiao Jun left-wing liberalism thought. This paper will be divided into four chapters, the first chapter systematically analyses the formation of Xiao Jun's literary thought. This chapter is divided into two sections. Section I introduces the seeds of Xiao Jun's literary thought, it mainly analyses the influence on Xiao Jun between family environment and social environment. The second section discusses that Xiao Jun gradually improved his left-wing liberalism thought with the Communist Party of China and Lu Xun help.The second, third, and fourth chapter can be regarded as the second part of this thesis. This part uses 1940s as background. During this time, Xiao Jun faced with different circumstances because of different political environments. He was the guest of honor at Yan'an in the early 1940s, but he was criticized by Northeast Bureau in the late 1940s.In the dramatic real life, Xiao Jun always sticks to his own left-wing liberal literary thought. The last three chapters analyze Xiao Jun's literary activities in the 1940s, and give some specific examples to demonstrate his unique literary thought.
