Muhammad Ali Era Egyptian Tribal Society Research

The tribe is important social organization and unit of ancient Egypt life. It plays an important role in opposing the alien race rule, resisting foreign intruders and expanding the territory. However, there are few studies on it both at home and aboard. Therefore, this article take the Mohammed Ali time's Egypt tribal society as the main object of study, probe into historical function of Egyptian politics, economy and military.This article is mainly composed of the foreword, main text and conclusion.The first chapter narrates Pre-Mohammed Ali's Egyptian Tribal history. This chapter outlines tribal society characteristics of Pre-Mohammed Ali society. Take the time development as the ordinate axis, mainly divides into the Mamluk time, the Ottoman Empire time and France invades. It mainly explores tribe's migration origin, resisting the alien race rule and foreign intruders.The second chapter focuses on Mohammed Ali time tribe structure. This chapter has mainly discussed internal tribal society rank, authority collection and legality. It studies the importance of social elite and tribal leaders and also on the importance of tribal conflict and competition in maintaining existence and development of the tribe.
