Chuxiong Yi Clothing Characteristics And Applied Research

Chuxiong Yi people's dress which created and developed through thousand years is a indispensable part of national dress. For thousand years of history, ethnic costumes, color matching, crafts and other cultural contents have become to the unique form of Yi dress, Chuxiong Yi people's dress show a distinctive style and geographical characteristics.Through looking up files and collection of relevant literature, I've been to Zhiju and Zhonghe of Chuxiong Yongren, Guihua and Tanhua of Dayao, Liupilang and Wujie of Nanhua for twice. I've done the local research, took some pictures of Chuxiong Yi dresss and went to the National Museum of Yunnan Province, Yunnan Museum, Museum of Chuxiong Yi People, Chuxiong cultural center, Yongren cultural center, etc. In the whole research, studying Yi dress from clothing patterns, dress structure, color matching and crafts etc. On this basis, the use of systems analysis method, induction and other research methods, on the Chuxiong Yi dress in modern clothing design features and the application of the system described and studied.This Paper involves anthropology, history, ethnology, arts and crafts, arts and design and other interdisciplinary major. Based on Yi dress's cultural essence, systems analysis, refining and summarized research have been given from Yi dress's general features to application of modern dress design. First, the paper divided Chuxiong Yi dress from various branches, and summarized Chuxiong Yi dress's characteristics; Secondly, basis on Chuxiong Yi dress's cultural, analyzing Yi dress from human life, worship festival, totem of communication from human to God and Yi people's belief as well as Yi and other nation's horizontal exchange; Thirdly, discussing Chuxiong Yi dress's beauty and form which is from the symmetry and balance, contrast and reconcile, proportion and way to analysis and research Chuxiong Yi dress pattern, color, style and structure; Then, summing up representative artistic characteristics of Chuxiong Yi dress; Fourthly, from the very respect of dress functionality, pattern, color, style, crafts process to argument the inspiration of Chuxiong Yi dress to modern dress design; Finally, through examples of modern design to express that exposition of Chuxiong Yi dress in modern dress design.In short, Yi dress exquisite crafts and gorgeous decoration which unite Yi girls all efforts, reflect the unique aesthetic sense, the character and ingenuity of Yi people. It is a bright pearl of the human dress. Yi dress is not only inherited the traditional Chinese attire plane cutting structures, but also had the religious beliefs of their native culture and the unique characteristics of aesthetic taste, so that it becomes the wonderful work as an art treasure in national dress. This paper enriches and develops anthropology, history, ethnology, arts and crafts, design and arts etc. For modern dress, it provides rich and profound meaning of arts on promoting nationalization design to localization development.
