Northeast Dialect Digital Word Study

The northeast dialect exists in all kinds of dialects in China for its own linguistic charms and vitality, and it is famous for"strong spices""humorous"and"active", also it is rich in expressive and infective, which can not be replaced by other dialects. The aim of this paper is through the investigation of the dialects and the comparison with number-word in the dialects in Shandong province, Peking city, Tianjin city and especially with Mandarin in China, to probe into the use of it, and to show the unique fascination of the northeast dialect from a side face.This thesis consists of four chapters: In the first chapter the nowadays researching of northeast dialect, the characteristics of words and phrases in Northeastern dialect, the purpose, meanings, the theory and methods of this study are introduced. In the second chapter, the cultural features of numerals in northeast dialect are discussed from several aspects: the northeast dialect numerals` continuation and evolution of ancient Chinese numerals; the influence of immigration and language contact to the northeast dialect. By describing numerals` meanings ancient and present, discovered that the accuracy and vagueness of numerals` meanings ancient and present is a contradiction. The results verified the theory of metaphor in cognitive linguistics. That is, the loss of vitality occurs inevitably in the projection process, this makes generalization and decategorialization involved in the meaning of a word progressively. As a result, the meanings of numerals are abstracted progressively. At the same time, unique features of northeast dialect numerals are discovered. For example,"six"means minimum which means"zero, northing";"seven"means"highest";"eight"means"maximum"and so on. In the third chapter, how the immigration influenced dialect is discussed by comparing numerals in northeast dialect and in other dialects. In the last chapter, the relationship between numerals in northeast dialect and Mandarin is revealed by comparing numerals in northeast dialect and Mandarin.This text utilize social linguistics theory, compare numerals in northeast dialect with other numberal words of relevant dialect, illustrate that social factor e.g. immigrant etc influence dialect, analyze difference and connect numberal words of relevant dialect; acknowledge metaphor and metonymy theory in linguistics at the same time, discuss amplification and development etc question of numberal words meaning.
