Objective:To observe the clinical effect of the catgut implantation at acupoint combined with Shugandaozhi decoction in patients with constipation-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-C).Method:60 patients with IBS-C were randomly divided into two groups: trial group ( n = 30) and control group ( n = 30). The patients in the trial group were given the catgut implantation at acupoint (1 time weekly)combined with Shugandaozhi decoction(100ml,3 times daily), and those in the control group were given Itopride (50mg,3 times daily) for 4 weeks. Observing the improvement on cardinal symptom, anus motivation, liminal value of rectum feeling capability. After drug withdrawal 1 month, followed up the patients.Result:The trial group is better than control group on improving cardinal symptom, anus rectum motivation, liminal value of rectum feeling capability(P<0.05),and lower than the control group on recurrence rate(P<0.05).Conclusion:The catgut implantation at acupoint combined with Shugandaozhi decoction is effective in treating IBS-C.
