Sub-health Status And Symptoms Of Heart System Syndromes Survey Research

Purpose:This study is to research into characteristics of Sub-health group in distribution, basic features and combination rules about common symptoms of heart system in TCM,in order to provide the basis for further judgement of heart syndrome in TCM.Method: Under clinical epidemiology guidance, we make spot questionnaire survey and data procurement in four A-grade hospitals medical centers or Sub-health outpatient service in Beijing by applying"Sub-health state rating scale"as a tool which embodies the characteristic of TCM. We determine the Sub-health group who does not conform to this research base on filtering standards and extract 15 items which represent the heart system symptoms of TCM by"Sub-health state rating scale". This database is called the heart system symptoms of TCM among the Sub-health group. We make descriptive statistical analysis and cluster analysis by application of SPSS16.0 software. We make a study and inquiry characteristics of common symptoms of heart system in TCM and combination rules about them.Results:1. According to 1332 cases questionnaire surveys data of Sub-health group shows: 490 Men(36.8%)and 831 women(62.4%)are in Sub-health group. Most of them are between 30-40 years old, which account for 51.5%.Most of them have academic qualification, which account for 39.2%.The occupational distribution in administrative staff is most, which accounts for 19.4%.2. The occurrence rate of fidgets, forgetfulness, fatigue, giddy of head, eyes discomfort, heart-throb, and short breath beyond 95% which are main heart symptoms in 15 common items of Sub-health. Cold-blooded, dreaminess, wake up early, wake up at night, chest distress, easy to sweat and difficult to fall asleep are minor symptoms, whose occurrence rates are beyond 90%. Fatigue, eyes discomfort, forgetfulness, fidgets,giddy of head,cold-blooded,wake up early, difficult to fall asleep and easy to sweat are more serious than the other 6 symptoms. Fidgets, forgetfulness, fatigue, giddy of head and eyes discomfort are main symptoms and serious symptoms.3. In different sex, the occurrence rates in men who suffer from the symptoms of fatigue, canker sores and easy to sweat are higher than women. The appearance proportions in women who suffer from heart-throb, short breath, chest distress,dreaminess and cold-blooded are higher than men. In different ages, the occurrence rates of fatigue in 30s-40s reach 100% are the same as fidgets occur in 36 to 45 years olds. The occurrence rates of fatigue, fidgets and heart-throb are more than 95% among the sub-healthy group of heart system. In different educational qualifications, the occurrence rates of forgetfulness are more than 95%.The occurrence rates of short breath in junior college degree or above are more than 95%. In different occupations, the occurrence rates of fatigue, fidgets and eyes discomfort are all beyond 95%. The occurrence rates of fatigue, fidgets reach 100% in the occupations of Enterprises and institution's principals, staffs of administrative affairs, technology or engineering research personnel, medical personnel and business people.4. The results of symptoms clustering show that short breath, chest distress and heart-throb for a group of symptoms, often appear in the syndrome of Heart-Qi deficiency and Heart-Yang deficiency. The symptoms related with sleep contain Wake up at night, wake up early and difficult to fall asleep cluster a group, often show the syndrome of Heart-Spleen deficiency. Fatigue, giddy of head, fidgets, forgetfulness cluster a group, also appear in the syndrome of Heart-Spleen deficiency.Conclusion:1.The features of Sub-health group are that women more than men, most of them are 30-40 years old, who have academic qualification,also staffs of administrative affairs, teachers and other occupations.2. The occurrence rate of fidgets, forgetfulness, fatigue, giddy of head, eyes discomfort, heart-throb and short breath are main heart system symptoms. Cold-blooded, dreaminess, wake up early, wake up at night, chest distress, easy to sweat and difficult to fall asleep are minor symptoms.3. The frequencies of symptoms are different from sex, ages, educational qualifications and occupations.4. The common heart system symptoms in sub-health mainly occur the syndrome of Heart-spleen deficiency, Heart-Qi deficiency and Heart-Yang deficiency.
