Acute ischemic stroke-related biological indicators are closely related to the pathological process after cerebral infarction, such as cerebral ischemia reperfusion, blood-brain barrier damage and cerebral edema. From some aspects, biological indicators reflect the changes in the severity of diseases, because they are objective, quantitative and accurate. Recently, "integrating disease and syndrome" research model is widely accepted by TCM practitioners, the correlations between TCM syndrome and biological indicators gradually become the hot topic. Under the guidance of "integrating disease and syndrome" research model, the study revealed the correlations between TCM syndrome and disease from different points of view. All the cases of this study have been chosen from National Point Foundation Research Development Plan (973 plan)---Ischemic Stroke Diagnosis Combining Symptoms and Signs of Disease and Effect Evaluation System Research. In this study, we used"Ischemic Stroke TCM Syndrome Factor Diagnostic Scale" (ISTSFDS) for syndrome diagnosis, which was made under a series of development and validation process of scale. Based on the standardized clinical data collection, the study selected 175 cases of acute ischemic stroke patients. In order to detection the biological indicators (HSP70,ICAM-1,MMP9) and diagonose TCM syndrome, the study collected serum sample and the four diagnostic clinic data dynamically. In this study, to explore the simple linear relationship between TCM syndrome and biological indicators, we applied the methods of t-test, variance analysis and correlation analysis firstly. Secondly, based on the complexity of TCM methodology, we applied the methods of Data Mining (GRI, CART) to reveal the correlations between TCM syndrome and biological indicators. With the application of Data Mining, it is to enlarge the developing prospects in the field of diease and TCM syndrome.
