The deficiency of blood in one's body and the degeneration of nutritional function can lead to loss of nutrients in one's pantomime, pulse, viscera and physique, and thus lead to a series of weak diseases, which are called blood deficiency. The clinical appearance of blood deficiency are as followings:dim or yellow face, pale lip, pale nails, dizzy, heart-throb, insomnia, numb hands and feet, mild menses in women, delayed menstrual periods or amenorrhea, light-colored tongue with white coating, thin and weak pulse.In recent years, with the development of modern science and technology, the improvement of laboratory assay methods, growth of combination of Chinese traditional and Western medicine, the laboratory study of Chinese blood deficiency obtained significant success. Many scholars have profoundly studied blood deficiency in a intact, cellular or molecular level, from the cause, pathology, animal models traditional dosimetry to other aspect, and have gotten in agree with the pathology and animal models in some aspects. All this researches have greatly enlarged and developed traditional theory of blood deficiency, and give us a good reference and guideline on prophylaxis, diagnosis, treatment of such diseases.Study on Chinese blood deficiency, in addition to the amount of blood and pathological changes caused by tissue dystrophy, and from the basic functions of the blood, i.e. the role of nutrition and moisture as the starting point, this is the key of grasping the essence of blood deficiency. From the perspective of modern medicine, it is capacity of blood supplying and transporting to tissues and organs of the body nutrition, which represents the function of blood. Evaluation from the blood volume, blood nutritional function, and the pathological changes of innutrition will be of significant importance.JQYXKL are Chinese drug made of raw material i.e. donkey-hide gelatin, astragalus and jujube, and its function is to reinforce Qi and nourish blood. In clinical, this drug are to use in anaemia caused by Qi-blood deficiency and hematopoieticdisorder caused by other reasons.To find out the modern mechanisms of the use of JQYXKL, we made the multiple blood deficiency animal models with blood loss+fatigue and acetylphenylhydrazine+ cyclophosphamide, and the blood deficiency animal model with acetylphenylhydrazine, to study the pharmacology of JQYXKL. Through the experiment, we studied the acts of JQYXKL on blood cells, hemoglobin, blood rheology, physical, independent activity, swimming survival time and survival time in hypoxia of Blood deficiency animals, to evaluate the effect of JQYXKL on blood deficiency, to discover the mechanisms of the treatment of JQYXKL on blood deficiency, and provide studying scientific bases for JQYXKL. Objective To observe the effect of JQYXKL on the hematopoiesis and physical strength of mice. Methods Qi-blood deficiency in mice was mimicked by directly drawing blood once and forced swimming consecutively for 7 days. Regular blood test was performed for the hematopoiesis analysis. Serum EPO was detected by ELISA methods. Results After blood drawing and consecutively swimming for 7 days, the red blood cells and hemoglobin concentration decreased comparing with control animals. The same time serum EPO increased after insults. Treatment with QJYXKL enhances the red blood cell and hemoglobin in red blood cells. The swimming time was also increased after QJYXKL treatment. We also found that QJYXKL could further increase the serum EPO of insulted mice. Conclusion QJYXKL could improve the physical strength of Qi-blood deficiency mice. It also enhances the blood cells number and hemoglobin concentration, which might result from the effect of improved EPO level.2 QJYXKL on blood cells, hemoglobin, and Blood Rheology of rats damaged by chemicalsObjective To observe the effect of JQYXKL on blood cells, hemoglobin, and Blood Rheology of blood deficiency rats damaged by chemicals. Methods Blood deficiency rat models by subcutaneous injection of acetylphenylhydrazine and cyclophosphamide were used to determine the blood routine and hemorheology. Results After injecting acetylphenylhydrazine and cyclophosphamide subcutaneously, the number of erythrocytes, hemoglobin in blood decreased significantly, the whole blood viscosity shear rate was in a decreasing trend, the reduced viscosity increased, hematocrit decreased, erythrocyte rigidity index increased (decreased erythrocyte deformability). JQYXKL can significantly improve the number of red blood cell and the amount of hemoglobin in blood deficiency rats, increase the plasma viscosity and hematocrit, and decrease erythrocyte rigidity index (increased red blood cell deformability).Conclusion JQYXKL has a function of invigorating the Qi and nourish the blood, it can increase the number of red blood cells and hemoglobin content, and it also can improve Hemorheology.3 QJYXKL on independent activity time, swimming survival time, hypoxic survival time of blood deficiency mice caused by acetylphenylhydrazineObjective To observe the effect of JQYXKL on independent activity frequency, swimming survival time, hypoxic survival time of blood deficiency mice caused by acetylphenylhydrazine. Methods Blood deficiency mice models by subcutaneous injection of acetylphenylhydrazine were used to determine independent activity frequency, swimming survival time and hypoxic survival time. Results After injecting acetylphenylhydrazine subcutaneously, independent activity frequency and swimming survival time were decreased significantly, hypoxic survival time was increased. JQYXKL can prolong independent activity frequency and swimming survival time, and has a trend to prolong hypoxic survival time.Conclusion JQYXKL has a function of invigorating the Qi and nourish the blood, it can prolong independent activity frequency and swimming survival time, and has a tolerant function to oxygen-deprivation.In summary, the JQYXKL can not only increase the number of blood cells and hemoglobin content of blood deficiency animals to improve the abnormal blood rheology, to treat blood deficiency in a blood volume aspect, but also can improve animal physical fitness, independent activity frequency, and the swimming survival time, to improve the nutritional functions of blood deficiency.
