Winter Disease - Acupoint Application Therapy, Prevention And Treatment Of Childhood Asthma Remission Of Clinical Validation

Purpose:1.To evaluate the effectiveness of treatment of wintertime disease in summer-acupoint sticking therapy-- for asthma children, and compare with the effectivness for asthma children complicated by rhinitis.2.To observe the interdependency between effectiveness and sex, age, course of disease,severity of asthma, period of treatment.3.To observe the side effects of treatment of wintertime disease in summer--acupoint sticking therapy.Methods:One hundred asthma children were chosen randomly and treated acupoint sticking therapy in the dog days(the first, second, third of the three ten-day periods of the hot season). The medicinal cake was made by herbal powder of semen brassicae, rhizoma corydalis, herba asari cum radice, euphorbia kansui, borneol, which was called JieziKeChuanGao. All asthma children were treated by acupoint sticking therapy on acupoint bilateral Dingchuan, Feishu, Gaohuang for 2 to 4 hours each time. Effectiveness was observed after 6 months.Results:1.The total effective for children asthma rates of acupoint sticking therapy was 75%.2.By chi-square test, there was no statistically difference among different sex, age, course of disease, severity of asthma, complicated by rhinitis or not, acupoint sticking therapy or not on three nine-day periods following winter solstice (P> 0.05). To the contrary, there was statistically significance (P=0.011 < 0.05) between single and multiple times acupoint sticking therapy, multiple times acupoint sticking therapy is much better than single time. There was no side effect among those one hundred asthma children.Conclusion:1.Clinical observation prove the role of prevention and cure of acupoint sticking therapy for asthma children.2. There was no statistically difference (P> 0.05) among different sex, age, course of disease, severity of asthma, complicated by rhinitis or not. So, acupoint sticking therapy is applicable for all asthma children in paracmasis.3. The study propose that the frequency of the therapy is the key factor associated with curative effect, this coule be a important rule which direct the therapy.4.There was no side effect among those one hundred asthma children, which reflect the therapy with nice safety.
