objective:The objective of this study was to evaluate the outcome of injection of triamcinolone acetonide into keloid scars with needle-free-injectors.Methods:Trial 1:10 frash cutted scars underwent the in vitro experiment by injection of triamcinolone acetonide with the needle-free injector and ordinary injectors. The results of drug distribution were compared. Trial2: From January 2006 to November 2009,52 patients with 104 sites keloid were divided randomly into the needleless injector group (55 sites keloid) and the ordinary injector group (49 sites keloid), and they underwent the treatment of the intralesional injection with triamcinolone acetonide. The Chi-Square-Tests and T-Tests were used to analyze the results of study.Result:Triall:The needle-free injector made smaller injection holes than the ordinary injectors made. The drug distribution of needle-free injector were flat circles, meanwhile the drug distribution of ordinary injectors were much more inregular. Trial2:In the needleless injector group (26 cases),38 of 55 (69.09%) keloids were excellence,17 of 55 (30.91%) were effective. In the ordinary injector group,21(42.86%) keloids were excellence,25 (51.02%) were effective,3(6.12%)were ineffective. The VASs in the needleless injector group and the ordinary injector group were 2.44 and 6.19 respectively. Conclusions:As the advantages of needle-free injector, it might be a good selection for intralesional injection of triamcinolone acetonide for the treatment of keloid.
